Open to all, come as you are.

Under the trees and open skies of Lancashire, we gather to meet God in the heart of nature. Rooted in Christ, shaped by the seasons, alive with the Celtic Christian tradition and Earth-based wisdom. Inclusive, affirming and open to all. Come as you are.

Welcome Home

At Sacred Sanctuary Forest Church, we gather under the canopy of ancient trees and the open skies of Lancashire, to meet the God, the Divine, in the heart of nature. We are an inclusive and affirming community. Everyone is welcome here, regardless of age, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, background or belief. We celebrate diversity as a reflection of the rich tapestry of creation itself, and we aim to create a space where all can feel safe, seen, and spiritually nourished.

We are Christian in essence, nature-based in practice, and open-hearted in spirit. Ours is a spirituality that’s not bound by walls, but alive in wind and root, flame and stream, bread and breath. We trust in a God who is both immanent and mysterious, and we celebrate a sacred story where resurrection is written in every blooming flower and fallen leaf and where rebirth and growth is in every seedling and sprout.

At Sacred Sanctuary, we draw from the Celtic Christian faith, nature-based rituals and Earth-centered wisdom. Our gatherings often align with the turning of the seasons, marking solstices, equinoxes as well as significant moments in the Christian calendar. We engage in simple liturgies, meditations, story-sharing, walking and exploring, music, meditations, foraging, shared meals and prayer that rise organically from the land and the moment.

Rather than gathering in buildings, we meet in the sacred cathedral of the trees. Here, we learn from the changing seasons, the quiet presence of ancient woodlands, and the interconnectedness of all living things. Nature is not simply a backdrop to our worship; it is our companion, our teacher, and a reflection of the Divine, of our God.

Sacred Sanctuary Forest Church is more than a church, more than a gathering; it’s a journey—towards wholeness, belonging, and a more awakened relationship with the Earth and the Sacred. Welcome home, welcome to Sacred Sanctuary.
